In a meeting with Mrs. De-Jane Gibbons, Assistant Representative of the Agency of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for the Caribbean, Cuban Ambassador to Barbados, Francisco Fernandez, expressed approval of his government to evaluate various triangular cooperation projects for the benefit of other Eastern Caribbean nations in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, early pregnancy and related, for which Cuba would bring their experiences and experts in the coming year 2016. The representative of UNFPA appreciated the willingness of the Cuban government to undertake this cooperation, given its accumulated experience in numerous projects of great social impact and recognized the value that will be implemented in several countries such as Granada, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, and others among which would also include Barbados. Ambassador Fernandez affirmed his government's will to extend cooperation in these areas, based on the positive experience with similar projects by other agencies such as FAO.
