Nassau, December 14, 2024. A frank and open conversation took place between Cubans residing in The Bahamas in a meeting held at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy.
The attendees addressed topics of interest under the principle of respect and love for the homeland where they were born. The unity of all Cubans was the guiding thread of the debate, with the consensus to promote diverse actions between generations settled in the Bahamas taking precedence.
The meeting reviewed the main actions that the Nation has carried out on the path to strengthen its ties with emigration from the 1978 Dialogue to the present. The work carried out by the different associations of Cuban residents in other parts of the world was also reviewed, including the activities organized by compatriots in the Bahamas, highlighting significant events that have brought them together to keep their roots alive and contribute to the defense of Cuba's sovereignty and independence from all scenarios.
In his speech, the Cuban ambassador Julio César González Marchante referred to the negative effects that the economic, commercial and financial blockade for more than 60 years has caused to the Cuban people and the relevance of their permanent denunciation and initiatives by all to overcome this policy, reiterating the support of the Embassy to join the Cuban residents in their calls.
The meeting concluded with a warm congratulation to all Cuban residents in the Bahamas for the advent of the New Year.
