Statement by the Socialist Workers' Party of Croatia (SRP)
The Socialist Workers' Party of Croatia (SRP) strongly condemns the new criminal aggression by the USA, this time against Venezuela, 'another in a countless series around the world, a flagrant violation of all international laws and UN resolutions with false accusations, in which American imperialism is turning into the worst form of fascism, surpassing all we know'.
- This aggression, as well as the fact that the duly elected president Nicolás Maduro and his wife were kidnapped, an act of state terrorism, points to a possible dangerous escalation of a wider conflict, not just in Latin America, a conflict that could even escalate into a world war.
It also points to the absurdity of the Trump nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, which was awarded to warmonger and Venezuelan hawk María Corina Machado, thereby completely degrading the institution of the Nobel Peace Prize. This war of American imperialism and hegemony also indicates that the famous saying still holds true: ‘Woe to the country that has great natural resources!’ - the SRP states.
