USA continues preparations to attack Venezuela, denounces Foreign Minister of Cuba

Havana-February 19. The government of the United States maintains the preparations for a military intervention against Venezuela, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced today in this capital.

In a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomat said that as the government of the island warned in his statement of February 13, there are other military transport flights to other countries from US facilities where forces are based. of special operations and marine infantry.

According to Rodríguez, these are troops that are used for covert actions, which include political figures among their targets. Such movements are carried out with absolute ignorance of the governments concerned in total disrespect for them and international law, he said.

The foreign minister of the Antilles recalled to national and foreign journalists that the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Raúl Castro, and the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, have warned in recent months about the economic, social consequences , humanitarian and for the peace of an eventual new war adventure of Washington.

Rodriguez affirmed that the island calls on the international community to act above political differences in defense of peace and to avoid with collective effort a military intervention against Venezuela.

He also ratified Cuba's solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution, the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro and the civic-military union of the people of the South American country.
