Vienna, March 9.-The Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cuba, Pilar Varona Estrada, arrived in Vienna to lead the Cuban delegation to the Sixty-eighth Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), to be held from March 10 to 14, 2025.
The Deputy Minister of Justice was received by Pablo Berti Oliva, Cuban Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna, who updated her on the work of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the complex work program of the Commission at this session, as well as the proposed objectives for the Cuban delegation.
Vice Minister Varona Estrada will address the CND on the afternoon of Monday, March 10, and will carry out an intense work program during the CND session. The occasion will be an opportunity to highlight Cuba's positions and work in confronting the world drug problem, including its zero tolerance policy on drugs.
The Cuban delegation is also composed of the Second Chief of the Anti-Drug Directorate of the Technical Department of Investigations of the Ministry of the Interior, Colonel Hector Gonzalez, and other officials from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Cuba and the Permanent Mission of Cuba in Vienna.
