Addis Ababa, November 18, 2023. The member of the Political Bureau and Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, arrived in Ethiopia on Saturday to begin an official visit as part of his tour of several African countries.
Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport, the Cuban Vice President was received by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mesganu Arga, who considered relations with Cuba to be of "great importance, because we are united by ties of blood and sacrifice that we are not going to renounce." "We are very grateful for their contribution to the liberation of African countries. We know that many Cubans paid with their blood for this freedom that we enjoy today," he said. "For us it is a source of great joy that you are here," he told the Cuban Vice President.
The official Cuban delegation is also made up of the First Deputy Minister of Public Health, Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández, and the Deputy Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ángel Villa Hernández.
