The vice president of the Palestinian National Council and deputy secretary-general of the FDLP calls for the broadest possible global solidarity campaign with Cuba to break the U.S. blockade imposed against it, as a guarantee of security and stability for the Cuban people and for the peoples of the world.

The Vice President of the Palestinian National Council, Ali Faisal, has sent a message to Cuban Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz, in which he salutes the resistance of the Cuban people and their leadership in the face of the brutal U.S. blockade:

Cuba, a land of resistance and a bastion of freedom, will not see its will broken by the blockade.

We call for the broadest possible global solidarity campaign with Cuba to thwart the objectives of the blockade.

Ali Faisal, vice president of the Palestinian National Council and deputy secretary-general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, praised the resilience of the Cuban people and their leadership, headed by the courageous President Miguel Díaz-Canel, in the face of the brutal U.S. blockade, noting that the ban on energy imports and power outages violate the most basic human rights and constitute a complete subversion of international humanitarian law. He affirmed that this constitutes a war crime against the Cuban people and against all of humanity, amounting to a crime of extermination, analogous to what is occurring in the Gaza Strip at the hands of the Israeli fascist clique, with the full participation and support of the United States.

Likewise, he declared in an exclusive statement to the media that the U.S. imperialist blockade, which has been in place since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the achievement of independence to this very day, has not succeeded—nor will it succeed—in breaking the will of the Cuban people or their courageous leadership; on the contrary, it will only serve to strengthen their resolve, their unity, their cohesion, and their commitment to the goals of the Revolution, in defense of national sovereignty and dignity.

Faisal condemned the systematic, racist, and fascist U.S. colonialist policy—particularly in its Trumpist form—which maintains that U.S. law takes precedence over international law and international legal norms, under the slogan “America First and Above All.” He denounced the policy of unleashing wars, plunging peoples into hunger and blockades, militarizing international relations, and imposing peace by force—as is happening today in the war against Iran, as happened previously against Venezuela—as well as the support for Israeli aggression against Lebanon, the expansion of the occupation in Syria, and the siege against anyone who opposes its policies and its hegemony over the peoples’ wealth and its plunder. All of this, he asserted, is carried out with the aim of controlling the world order in accordance with the colonialist interests of the capitalist clique that governs that country.

Faisal emphasized that this colonialist policy will breed its own antagonist, thanks to the resistance of the Cuban people and the front of free peoples and free nations around the world, which will thwart the aggressive objectives of the United States and Zionists, whatever sacrifices that may entail.

Faisal concluded his statement by expressing his gratitude to Cuba—its people and leadership—for their support of the Palestinian people in their efforts to end the war of extermination and to enable the Palestinian people to achieve their national rights, first and foremost the right to establish an independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem and the return of the refugees. He reaffirmed the continued solidarity of the Palestinian people and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine with the Cuban people, and called for the broadest possible global solidarity campaign with Cuba to break the U.S. blockade imposed against it, as a guarantee of security and stability for the Cuban people and for the peoples of the world.
