The Vice President of the Palestinian National Council thanks Cuba for joining South Africa in the lawsuit against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
In a message delivered to the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon, the Vice President of the Palestinian National Council and Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Comrade Ali Faysal, said: We salute Cuba for its firm and principled positions, and we call for an end to the aggression and for the occupying state and its supporters to be prosecuted.
Following the announcement to join South Africa's lawsuit against "Israel" before the International Court of Justice, the Vice President of the Palestinian National Council and Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Comrade Ali Faysal, saluted the leaders and people of Cuba for their positions in support of Palestinian rights, the most recent of which was its announcement to join South Africa in its lawsuit against Israel before the International Court of Justice, based on Article 63 of the Court's Statute, which allows countries not involved in the case to intervene, Cuba considers that Israel has violated the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide" for its actions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Faysal stressed that the Cuban position arises as a continuation of the revolutionary socialist approach followed by Cuba in its support for the Palestinian right and the aspirations of the peoples to free themselves from exploitation, dependence and domination by US imperialism and the Atlantic countries, which today partner with Israel to commit crimes of genocide against our Palestinian people, and towards a new multipolar world order in which the values of truth, democracy and justice prevail.
Faysal called for more work to stop the aggression, meet all the necessities of life of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, lift the siege, open all crossings, withdraw the occupying army, transfer patients in need of treatment out of the Strip, return the displaced, rebuild the Strip, release prisoners, ensure that the occupying state is prosecuted, expel it from the international community and impose isolation, besiege it and cut off all forms of relations with it, as it is a country that does not respect any international norms and conventions, practices organized terrorism at the state level, prosecute its leaders as war criminals and ensure its proceedings before the international court of justice, and support the struggles of the Palestinian people to achieve their national rights of return and self-determination, and establish their independent state with its capital, Jerusalem.
