Vienna, November 28. On Thursday evening, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Eduardo Martinez Diaz met with a representation of Cubans living in Austria, in the framework of the activities of the Cuban delegation attending the Ministerial Conference on Science, Technology and Nuclear Applications and the IAEA's Technical Cooperation Program.
The deputy head of the Cuban government expressed his deep gratitude for the various signs of support offered by the Cuban nationals living abroad and for their participation in important processes of Cuban society. In addition, he emphasized with deep pride that Cuba can count on the majority of its children and descendants, regardless of distances or circumstances.
During the meeting, it was reaffirmed the will to continue expanding and strengthening the links with our compatriots abroad and to give continuity to the results of the IV Conference of the “Nation and Emigration”.
Likewise, the initiatives and efforts of various kinds that Cubans abroad are leading in the socio-economic development of Cuba and in the permanent denunciation of the effects of the economic blockade were also acknowledged.
