Victory of Playa Girón is celebrated by the League of Palestinian Graduates of Cuban Universities and Institutes in Lebanon

Subject: Solidarity with Cuba
Today, April 18, 2025, we commemorate the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban revolution against the CIA's air, sea and land aggression against Cuba at Playa Girón.
We remember that, 18 months after the triumph of the Cuban revolution against the tyranny, against the dictatorial regime of Batista, against the armament machinery of the North American empire.
We recall that in April of that year 1961, the US regime mobilized, trained, armed, financed mercenary paramilitary bands and launched air, sea and land aggression against Cuba with the purpose of destroying the experience of the recently triumphant Cuban revolution against the dictatorial regime allied with the United States.
The Cuban revolution together with the revolutionary people of Cuba confronted the aggressors, stopping their land advance, annihilating their military forces in less than 72 hours. Thus, the Cuban revolution achieved the second triumph against the Yankee armament machine in less than two years.
In Cuba we have revolutionary experiences that gave practical examples of how to confront, fight and achieve victory against a ferocious, immoral, terrorist enemy, and how to liberate the war of all the people, the revolutionary war, the war of popular liberation.
Cuba is the example of how it is possible to resist an economic, financial and commercial blockade and at the same time manage to build the necessary bases for the development of society in the different fields of daily life and which are important such as defense, health, primary, secondary, pre-university and university education, sports, food production for all the people.
Our Palestinian people in particular, for the last 18 months, have been resisting the aggressions of the occupation, the terrorism of the United States State that launched a war of general destruction, extermination and ethnic cleansing against our Palestinian, Lebanese and Yemeni people.
Cuba, Palestine, Lebanon and Yemen are facing the same enemy: the US empire.
Once again we declare our solidarity with the people of Cuba, with the Cuban revolution against the economic, financial and commercial blockade implemented by the different administrations of the United States against Cuba.
