Port of Spain, April 23th, 2026. The Ambassador of Cuba Gustavo Véliz was received at the headquarters of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) by its Secretary General, H.E. Ms. Noemí Espinoza.
During the meeting, the Secretary General inquired about the current situation in Cuba, particularly regarding the impact of coercive measures affecting the country, which have been further intensified following the executive order issued on January 29 by the President of the United States. She also reiterated the ACS’s solidarity with and support for Cuba.
In a cordial and friendly exchange, both parties discussed the upcoming XXXI Ordinary Meeting of the ACS Council of Ministers, scheduled to take place in June in Panama City. They also addressed the Association’s project on humanitarian assistance to Haiti.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and solidarity among ACS Member States.
