Dominica, September 25, 2016. The Chancellor of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honorable Senator Francine Baron, reiterated the traditional support of her country to the lifting of the US blockade against Cuba, during the High-Level Segment of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York.
The Heads of State and Government of Latin America and the Caribbean, gathered in Quito, Ecuador, on occasion of the 4th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), on January 27th, 2016:
“Eighty per cent of the world’s population owns only 6 per cent of all the richness, while the 1 per cent richest enjoys half of the planet’s patrimony. No less than 795 million persons in the world suffer from chronic hunger and every day 18 000 children die of poverty.
INTRODUCTION
In the period between April of 2015 and April of 2016 some results have been achieved in the bilateral relations between the United States and Cuba. It can particularly be indicated the re-establishing of diplomatic relations and the re-opening of embassies that were preceded by the just action of taking Cuba off the spurious list of States sponsoring terrorism, a list on which Cuba should never have been in the first place.
