THE AMBASSADOR OF CUBA MEETS IN DOMINICA WITH MINISTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Roseau, March 6, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba in Dominica, Ulises Arranz Fernández, held a working meeting with the Minister of Public Health and Social Services of Dominica, Dr. Kenneth Darroux, today. The meeting was held at the headquarters of that Ministry and also had the presence of the Permanent Secretary, Letitia Lestrade-Wyke and Dr. David Johnson, Medical Chief, both senior officials of that Ministry. Both the Minister Dr. Kenneth and Dr. David graduated in Cuba in the medical career, for which they feel a special affection for our country.

CUBA STRONGLY REJECTS NEW AGGRESSIVE ESCALATION BY THE UNITED STATES

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejects in the strongest terms the new escalation in the US aggressive behavior against Cuba.

The US State Department announced today the decision to allow, as from March 19 this year, the filing of lawsuits before US courts under Title III of the Helms-Burton Act only against Cuban companies included in the List of Restricted Entities issued by that government on November of 2017, which was updated one year later. This arbitrary and illegitimate list, intended to tighten the blockade and expand its extraterritorial effects, forbids US citizens from engaging in direct financial transactions with the aforementioned entities. MAKES CUBAN MEDICAL BRIGADE IN DOMINICA MORE THAN 28 THOUSAND MEDICAL CONSULTATIONS

Roseau, February 2, 2019. A total of 28 269 medical consultations carried out in 2018, the Cuban medical brigade that provides services in the sister nation of Dominica. The figure was announced by the head of the brigade, Dr. Isolina López Cardoso, at the meeting held yesterday night, February 1, 2018, at the Hospital Princesa Margarita, the main hospital in the country; in which the results of the work carried out last year were analyzed. The number of consultations represents 39% of the total population of Dominica, whose figure exceeds 73 thousand inhabitants.
