In the last few hours, natural phenomena have been impacting countries in the Wider Caribbean Basin.

Cuba expresses its solidarity with the Caribbean brothers affected by Hurricane Irma, especially with the people and authorities of Antigua and Barbuda, where our health workers continue to provide services and contribute to the recovery of the country.

Likewise, we reiterate our solidarity and support to the peoples and governments of Mexico and Guatemala, following the strong earthquake that struck last night and caused significant human and material losses.

Dominica, Roseau, August 28, 2017. As part of the Cuba-CARICOM Agreement, 14 Dominican students traveled to Cuba to attend university. As every year, a group of Dominican students begin higher education in Cuba as part of the human resources training program that the island has been developing for several years with several Caribbean nations.
