Cuba Updates List of Individuals and Entities Sought for Terrorism Links

Senior Cuban officials announced on Wednesday an update to the national list of individuals and entities subject to criminal investigations and sought by the island's authorities for terrorism links.

During a press conference in Havana, authorities announced that a letter was delivered to the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) listing the names of individuals and entities involved "in promoting, planning, organizing, financing, supporting, or committing acts carried out in the national territory or in other countries for the purpose of terrorism."

Cuba’s Deputy Director of U.S. Affairs Johana Tablada offered a sobering but impassioned critique of current U.S. policy toward Cuba, where she called on Americans — especially African Americans — to pay closer attention to the consequences of decades-long sanctions and misinformation.

In an interview at Black Press USA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., Tablada described the current relationship between the U.S. and Cuba as being “at a low point,” marked by “maximum aggression” from the U.S. government.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba reports that malicious actors have recently compromised its official YouTube channel. This incident is a clear act of cybercrime and is part of a broader pattern of digital harassment that Cuban institutions have consistently denounced. 

The Ministry strongly condemns this cyberattack and asserts that any content posted during the time the channel was compromised does not reflect the views of the Cuban Government, this Ministry, or any other Cuban institution. 

US Treasury Department Fines Logistics Company $600,000 for Sending Food and Supplies to Cuba from Colombia

On July 3, it was revealed that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury has imposed a $608,825 fine on Key Holding, LLC, owner of Key Logistics Colombia S.A.S., for conducting 36 shipments to Cuba between 2022 and 2023, valued at over $3 million. The majority of these shipments consisted of food, alongside oil well machinery, towels, and electric forage choppers.
