Jamaican parliamentarian expresses solidarity with Cuba

Lisa Hanna, a member of the Parliament of Jamaica and Shadow Minister for Foreign Relations and Foreign Trade, posted on her Twitter account a message condemning the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the US government against Cuba and her rejection of the recent inclusion of the Greatest Island in the Antilles in the defamatory and selective list of countries that do not collaborate with the fight against terrorism, which unilaterally issues the US State Department.

The Honourable Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness of Jamaica, reiterated his recognition of and gratitude for the Cuban medical cooperation that brings health care to the Caribbean nation.

He did so during a virtual meeting with the Cuban ambassador, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández. The Cuban diplomat also referred to the impact of the work developed by Cuban professionals in the Jamaican public health system, amidst a complex international epidemiological situation derived from COVID 19.
