Cypriot newspaper Haravgi publishes a statement from the Revolutionary Government: “Cuba condemns the vile accusation against the Leader of the Revolution.”

Nicosia, Cyprus, May 28, 2026. The Cypriot newspaper “Haravgi” reproduced in full on its front page this Thursday, May 28, the statement from the Revolutionary Government: “Cuba condemns the vile accusation against the Leader of the Revolution", Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.

The text exposes a brazen, interventionist, and provocative action by the U.S. government against Cuba and its people, attempting to criminalise Comrade Raúl Castro Ruz through slanderous and distorted accusations with no regard for historical truth; trying to divert international public opinion from the primary responsibility of U.S. policy for the sustained deterioration and worsening of the current living conditions of the Cuban population.

Haravgi thus publishes the crude and fraudulent accusation against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz as the latest pretext wielded by the U.S. government, adding to a long list of fallacies that attempt to portray Cuba as a threat to U.S. national security.

Cuban Ambassador participates in an awards ceremony for Outstanding Students at the Language Center of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol

Nicosia, Cyprus, May 27, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, participated this Wednesday in the awards ceremony for the top students of French, Chinese, German, Russian, Greek, and Spanish at the Language Center of the Cyprus University of Technology at its Limassol campus.

The event recognizes the most distinguished academic records in language training at the aforementioned Cypriot institution. Pino Martínez congratulated all the award winners, especially Christina Trasyvouloy, the only outstanding student in Spanish at the third level of study.

The Cuban diplomat expressed his gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in this stimulating practice of the institution, which promotes enriching approaches to foreign language learning in conjunction with the various undergraduate programs offered by the centre. Alongside proposing ideas for upcoming courses, the event included interactive initiatives with Spanish language students through talks and exchanges on literature, film, and cultural heritage in Cuba.

This was a timely opportunity to learn about some experiences and practical uses of Artificial Intelligence in language teaching, without underestimating the perspective and role of teachers, whose tools can support lesson planning, materials development, and personalized learning, enriching students' education from a linguistic standpoint as well.

The Cuban ambassador to Cyprus attends a reception marking Georgia’s Independence Day.

Nicosia, Cyprus, December 22, 2025. Cuba’s ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, attended an event held in the Cypriot capital on Thursday, December 21, to mark Georgia’s Independence Day. At the ceremony, he was welcomed by the chargé d’affaires of the Georgian embassy in Nicosia, Her Excellency Ms. Marine Narchemashvili, and her diplomatic team.

Her Excellency Vasiliki Kassianidou, Cyprus’s Deputy Minister of Culture, delivered a welcome address on behalf of her government to mark Georgia’s National Day, in which she conveyed Cyprus’s official greetings, highlighted the positive bilateral relations between Georgia and the Mediterranean nation, and reiterated the congratulations shared by the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Nicosia who were present at the event.

ΔΗΛΩΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΠΑΝΑΣΤΑΤΙΚΗΣ ΚΥΒΕΡΝΗΣΗΣ:

Η Κούβα καταδικάζει την αξιοκαταφρόνητη κατηγορία εναντίον του Ηγέτη της Επανάστασης

Η Επαναστατική Κυβέρνηση καταδικάζει με τους πιο σθεναρούς όρους την αξιοκαταφρόνητη κατηγορία του Υπουργείου Δικαιοσύνης των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών που ανακοινώθηκε στις 20 Μαΐου και διακηρύχθηκε επί αρκετές εβδομάδες εναντίον του Στρατηγού Ραούλ Κάστρο Ρούθ, ηγέτη της Κουβανικής Επανάστασης.

Η κυβέρνηση των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών στερείται νομιμότητας και δικαιοδοσίας για να προβεί σε αυτή την ενέργεια. Πρόκειται για μια αξιοκαταφρόνητη και επαίσχυντη πράξη πολιτικής πρόκλησης, που βασίζεται στη δόλια χειραγώγηση του συμβάντος που οδήγησε στην κατάρριψη, τον Φεβρουάριο του 1996, δύο αεροσκαφών που επιχειρούσε η τρομοκρατική οργάνωση «Αδέλφια προς Διάσωση» με έδρα το Μαϊάμι στον κουβανικό εναέριο χώρο, οι επαναλαμβανόμενες παραβιάσεις του οποίου για εχθρικούς σκοπούς ήταν κοινώς γνωστές.

Επιπλέον, η αμερικανική κυβέρνηση διαστρεβλώνει άλλες ιστορικές αλήθειες σχετικά με το γεγονός που χρησιμοποιεί ως πρόσχημα. Παραλείπει, μεταξύ άλλων λεπτομερειών, τις πολυάριθμες επίσημες καταγγελίες που υπέβαλε η Κούβα κατά την περίοδο εκείνη στο Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, στην Ομοσπονδιακή Υπηρεσία Πολιτικής Αεροπορίας (FAA) και στον Διεθνή Οργανισμό Πολιτικής Αεροπορίας (ICAO) σχετικά με περισσότερες από 25 σοβαρές και εσκεμμένες παραβιάσεις του κουβανικού εναέριου χώρου από την εν λόγω οργάνωση μεταξύ 1994 και 1996, κατά κατάφωρη παράβαση του διεθνούς δικαίου και της ίδιας της αμερικανικής νομοθεσίας.
