Nicosia, Cyprus - The Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero, held on the morning of October 23rd, a fruitful meeting with the Secretary General of the Progressive Party of the Working People of Cyprus (AKEL), Stefanos Stefenou, in which various issues of bilateral and international interest were discussed.
Nicosia, Cyprus - On the evening of October 16, 2023, Cuban Ambassador Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero participated in the premiere of the play “El Che”, presented for the first time in Cyprus at the Cyprus Workers' Federation Theater (PEO) in Paphos. The play, starring Vasilis Kyriacou and director Yiannis Stamatiou, served as a tribute to the 57th anniversary of the assassination of Ernesto Che Guevara, was performed under the auspices of the Cuban Embassy in Cyprus, and organized by the House of Letters and Arts of Paphos, the Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association, the Cyprus Workers' Federation of Paphos and the Cyprus Peace Council.

The University of Nicosia Library and Information Centre, in collaboration with the Embassy of Cuba in Cyprus, hosted a distinguished book presentation event for “Ιστορία της Κούβας, Η πρόκληση του Ζυγού και του Άστρου” ("History of Cuba: The Challenge of the Yoke and the Star") by Professor José Cantón Navarro, published by Almyra in 2023. The event took place at the University of Nicosia’s Library, on Monday October, 7th drawing a remarkable group of guests, esteemed speakers, and an engaged audience.
The Cuban writers' delegation has concluded their participation in the Nicosia Book Festival 2024, making a lasting impression on the cultural scene of Cyprus and fortifying the literary bonds between the two countries.
