Second edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival in Cyprus closes with the screening of the Cuban film "Habanastation".

Yesterday, 4th June 2024, the closing of the second edition of the Iberoamerican Film Festival in Cyprus was celebrated with the collaboration between the Iberoamerican Embassies (Brazil, Cuba, Portugal, Peru and Spain), the Cervantes and Camoes Institutes and the Association of Friends of Cinema, this year inaugurated by the Embassy of Brazil.

In the auditorium of the Cine Studio of the University of Nicosia, Cuba closed the second edition of the Festival with the film "Habanastation" (2011).

The Ambassador of Cuba in the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero held a fruitful meeting with the President of the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents and Tour Operators (ACTTA), Mr. Charis Papacharalambous at the premises of the Embassy.

There is only one Cuba Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba

On May 28, the Government of the United States finally announced a group of measures aimed at implementing the policy announced on May 16, 2022. The purpose of this step, according to the text published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), is to support the private sector in Cuba.

DECLARATION BY THE ASSOCIATION OF CUBANS LIVING IN CYPRUS

On 15 May, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement denouncing Cuba's unjust continued inclusion on the List of countries that sponsor terrorism.

It is important to highlight that, although Cuba continues to appear on this list, it does not appear in the report to Congress, sent by the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, on the countries that "do not fully cooperate with US counter-terrorism efforts in the calendar year 2023".
