Today, Cuba elects its new president. It attracts considerable attention in the media that the "Castro era" ends, as it is formulated differently.

Cuba has a unique and different democracy than we know from the western classical bourgeois democracy. Of course, it has landed because Cuba is a socialist country! That's why it's annoying - it's manipulative that almost everybody measures Cuba with a bourgeois scale, and often Cuba's democracy is judging because it's not organized like in Denmark or other western countries.

In an event held on April 13 with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Confederation of Industries, entrepreneurs, diplomats, as well as members of solidarity groups, the Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas reaffirmed the will of her country to continue making progress in the updating process of the Cuban economic model.

The Cuban ambassador in Denmark Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas presented on April 13 the first placing of Santiago de Cuba rum on the Danish market, which will begin to be distributed in this country by the Cuban company Ron Nordic. Danish businessmen participated in the launching ceremony, that was accompanied by a Cuban party that also had the presence of Cuban residents.

On April 2 the Danish newspaper Arbejderen published an article that describes  a project promoted by residents of the Faroe Islands (autonomous territory of Denmark), which consists of crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat towards Cuba and continue to the United States, with a message of friendship among  peoples.

In Copenhagen, commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Cuito Cuanavale battle

In commemorating the 30th anniversary of Cuito Cuanavale battle, the activist Ann Langwadt  and Danish friends made an exhibition in Casa Latinoamericana in Copenhagen and paid tribute to the Cuban internationalists. Gorm Gunnarsen, boardmember of the organisation Africa Contact, delivered a speech and highlighted the historical meaning of Cuito Cuanavale battle that was decisive to eliminate the apartheid regime. In the same way the Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas, made an intervention and thanked their endeavours to carry out this hommage.
