Cuba present at the “Digitalization of Public Services and Startup Ecosystems” workshop in Finland

Cuba participated in the workshop “Digitalization of Public Services and Startup Ecosystems” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland. The visit to the Maria01 facilities was very productive to learn more about Startups in Finland and establish close relationships with the personal responsible for this project. Ambassador Beatriz Parra González thanked the authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this interesting initiative that brought together resident and non-resident Ambassadors.

The United States has to take Cuba, once and for all, out of the list of states allegedly sponsoring terrorism

According to U.S. official media reports, on 15 May 2024, the country’s State Secretary submitted to the Congress one more of the arbitrary reports that normally describe countries without any international mandate or recorgnition. This time, he listed four countries who allegedly “do not fully cooperate with the United States antiterrorist efforts for the 2023 calendar year.” As opposed to what has happened in recent years, the list does not slanderously include Cuba among such countries. Nonetheless, the State Department keeps Cuba as one of the States in a list of those allegedly “sponsoring” terrorism. 

Cuban Ambassador Receives Board and Members of the Finland-Cuba Parliamentary Group

Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González had the pleassure to receive this Thursday the leadership of the Finland-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group in Suomen Eduskunta, with MP´s Mr. Jouni Ovaska (Keskusta), Mrs. Inka Hopsu (Green Party) and its secretary Mrs. Katja Nolvi. The Meeting was honored also with the presence of some members among them Mrs. Ville Skinnari (SDP), Mrs. Paula Werning (SDP) and Pia Hiltunen (SDP). Cuba, its current economic situation and the impact of the blockade on daily lives guided an excellent talk, in wich were mentions also to the relevant ties between the Island and the European Union. 

Finnish company SPTR Asennus Oy is invited to FIHAV 2024

The ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, held a productive meeting with Eemi Saalo, vice president of the company SPTR Asennus Oy, and her colleague Mika Mäempää, in which they discussed future positive projects for the development of the island. The diplomat took the opportunity to invite the Finnish company SPTR Asennus Oya to participate, along with other local companies, in FIHAV 2024, the most relevant trade fair on the Island, which will be held next November.

A new Doctor of Sciences is the pride of the Cuban community in Finland

It was a pleasure to welcome our compatriot Juan Carlos Guzmán, who has lived in Finland for more than 20 years, at our Embassy this Monday. This opportunity, the meeting with greater joy and happiness after his recent graduation as a Doctor of Sciences, a dream to which he dedicated the last decade of his life, which he narrates includes relevant moments such as the birth of his little son Sami. Engineer Juan Carlos, as his friends call him, is a Cuban who enhances the prestige, academic preparation and pride of the Cuban Community residing in Finland.
