G77+China pro-tempore presidency: Cuba calls for unity of the South to face current challenges

United Nations, Jan 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Thursday called for unity among nations of the South, upon assuming G77+China pro-tempore presidency.

In a video message at the official ceremony, the Cuban leader urged to take pressing actions to overcome obstacles to the peoples´ real progress. Unity is an imperative today and the greatest of all emergencies, Díaz-Canel stressed.

President Miguel Díaz-Canel, sent a message through his Twitter account to congratulate the Cuban people on the occasion of the new year and the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.

As we push the doors of 2023, we strongly feel the strength of the historic legacy that drives us towards the new year, without fear and doubt, but always aware that it could be even more difficult, the head of State wrote on his Twitter account.

Díaz-Canel welcomes Caribbean position against U.S. blockade of Cuba

Bridgetown, December 6 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Tuesday thanked the Caribbean Community for its stance against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on his country by the United States more than six decades ago.

During his speech at the 8th Caricom-Cuba Summit, held in the capital of Barbados, the president acknowledged the solidarity and support of the group during Covid-19 and after the blockade imposed on his country by the United States more than six decades ago.

Cuban President verifies good state of relations with China

President Miguel Díaz-Canel today confirmed the good state of relations between Cuba and China in each meeting with the country's highest authorities, where he fulfilled a tight but fruitful working agenda.

From his account on the social network Twitter, the dignitary said that in the official talks with his host counterpart, Xi Jinping, they highlighted the historical character of the excellent ties between both peoples, parties and governments, based on the coincidence of ideals, purposes and broad political agreement in international forums.

The historic leader of the Revolution is a distinctive sign of the commendable efforts of Cubans, from the Mambises until today, to consolidate sovereignty and independence and to shape a better world.
