South African Minister of Health exchanges with Henry Reeve Brigade and appreciates their valuable contribution in the battle against Covid19

Pretoria, August 14, 2020.- The South African Minister of Health Dr. Zwelini Mkhize, and the Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Verson, held a virtual meeting with a representation of Cuban doctors from the Henry Reeve Brigade deployed in the provinces of Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Kwa Zulu-Natal and Western Cape.

The Minister thanked, on behalf of the South African government and people, the important contribution that Cuban professionals are making to national efforts to combat COVID-19.

Cuba sends a Medical Brigade to the Kingdom of Eswatini to combat Covid 19

Pretoria, Agust 14, 2020.- Responding to the request of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Cuba is sending a Medical Brigade to that African country to help in confronting COVID19. The Brigade is made up of 20 doctors from different specialties. It is scheduled to arrive in Eswatini on Wednesday, August 19, after a transit through neighboring South Africa.
The members of the brigade represent 9 Cuban provinces.

In the nearly four years since his passing on November 25, 2016, the significance and resonance of Fidel’s revolutionary and socialist ideas, and the practice of the Cuban Revolution he was the central leader of, are greater than ever.

Pretoria, Agust 13, 2020.- The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) would like to join the international community and all progressive forces around the world including the people of Cuba in celebrating 94 years since the birth of one of Cuba’s most revered revolutionaries Comrade Fidel Castro.

Comrade Fidel Castro led the revolution in Cuba that overthrew the government of Batista in 1959 and introduced socialism.
