Pretoria, September 26, 2020.- The National University of South Africa (UNISA) and its Rector, Professor Mandla Makanya nominated and formally registered the International Contingent of Cuban Doctors "Henry Reeve" for the Nobel Peace Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee formally confirmed the registration of the nomination by UNISA for due consideration.
Pretoria, Sepctember 23, 2020.- The cooperation between Cuba and South Africa in the field of Basic Education is going well.
The Cuban teachers of the Basic Education Cooperation Brigade work in different South African provinces sharing the experiences of the Island to improve the learning of Mathematics and Physical, Natural and Technical Sciences in South African Basic Education students.
Pretoria, September 22, 2020.- This September 22, 2020, is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Cuba and the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1995, both States have worked together in the interest of diversifying and expanding bilateral cooperation.
We proudly highlight the bilateral cooperation that has been developed in the health area that began in 2005, with the signing of the first Health Cooperation Agreement between both countries.
Pretoria, Septiembre 19.- The International Medical Brigade was created on 19 September 2005, in response to the damage caused by hurricane Katrina to New Orleans in the United States, which brought about approximately 1,336 casualties.
The Brigade was called Henry Reeve as a tribute to an American man, born in New York, who joined the Cuban independence war against Spanish colonial domination. In the history of Cuba, Henry Reeve became a paradigm of international solidarity.
