Family code debate continues in South Africa

Pretoria, 11 March, 2022.- Diplomats and workers on official mission were present at the meeting of the consultation process of the new Cuban Family Code.

During the discussion of the project, 36 proposals were made with proposals for adding, deleting and modifying content, as well as the presentation of doubts.

Marriage, the protection of children in the digital environment, the care of the elderly, solidary gestation and parental responsibility were among the issues that motivated the interventions during this exercise that precedes the popular referendum.

Special Electoral Constituency of South Africa begins consultation process of the Family Code

Pretoria, March 7, 2022.-  More than 560 Cuban aid workers distributed in 22 meeting points in South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini began the consultation process of the new Cuban Family Code.

Workers on official missions from the Health, Construction, Education, Hydraulic Resources and Defense brigades have provided valuable criteria on this new legal instrument of fundamental importance, which aims to protect the various family realities that exist in Cuba today.

Ambassador of Cuba in South Africa exchanges with the president of the ANC Women's League

Pretoria, February 28, 2022.- The Ambassador of Cuba in South Africa, Enrique Orta González, met today with Bathabile Dlamini, president of the Women's League of the African National Congress, a friendly organization with close and long-standing relations with Cuba.

This prestigious South African political and mass organization played a leading role in the struggles against the opprobrious Apartheid regime. Lillian Ngoyi, Winnie Mandela, and Frances Baard are among the leaders of the anti-apartheid movement who were part of the League.
