Cuba urges to prevent tragic incidents as a result of irregular migration

On March 2, 2021, there was an exit from the country along the north coast of Villa Clara province, organized from the United States, using a rapid speedboat for human trafficking. The participants, all Cubans, including women and children, were taken by the traffickers to an inhospited and uninhabited cay from the salt bank in the Bahamas. Cuban-developed vaccine enters Phase III trial.

AFP, 5 March 2021. A Cuban-developed coronavirus candidate vaccine entered into Phase III trials Thursday, the first shot developed by a Latin American country to get this far, the government said. The recruitment of 44,000 volunteers aged 19 to 80 to test the drug named Soberana 2 has already begun, said Cuba's Finlay vaccine institute.

Cubaminrex, ‎This Friday, 26 February 2021, the Third Round of the Dialogue on Human Rights between Cuba and the European Union was entered into in the framework of the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation between the Caribbean country and the European bloc. The respective delegations were chaired by Mr. Eamon Gilmore, special representative of the European Union for Human Rights, and María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, Acting Director-General for Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.‎

Cuba denounces negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the fight against COVID-19

Cuba declared today at the Open Debate of the Security Council on “Maintenance of international peace and security: implementation of resolution 2532” that: “Seven months after the Security Council adopted resolution 2532 (2020), the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a global challenge that has sparked a crisis of manifold and ravaging effects, not only for health, but also for the economy, trade and our societies at large”.
