Cuban Foreign Minister participates in UN high level meeting on health

La Habana, September 24, 2019.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, began his remarks with a condemnation of the United States which has attempted to discredit and sabotage Cuba's medical cooperation, based on ethical and humanistic principles, an example of South-South cooperation, and that has helped countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia to improve health coverage and provide medical care in remote areas.

Distinguished Heads of State and Government;

Distinguished delegates:

Four years have elapsed since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. However, the prevailing international order continues to be unjust, unequal and exclusive. For 40 consecutive years, developed countries have failed to meet their Official Development Assistance commitments. Unsustainable patterns of production and consumption linger on, leading the world to the imminent destruction of the conditions for life on the planet.

Cuba denounces the global escalation of aggression of the current U.S. government in a Ministerial meeting of the NAM.

New York, 26 September 2019. In his statement during the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), at the United Nations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla warned about the extremely complex current world scenario, characterized by the increase in military expenditures, the modernization of nuclear weapons and the proliferation of unconventional warfare, politicization and double standards in addressing the human rights issue; violations of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, including acts or threats of aggression, interference in the internal affairs of States to undermine their political independence and territorial integrity.

US expels two Cuban diplomats to UN

By The Mast on September 23, 2019. THE US has expelled two Cuban diplomats from the UN Permanent Mission and has imposed movement restrictions on those remaining to the island of Manhattan. But Cuba says the imputation that its diplomatic corps performed acts incompatible with their diplomatic status is vulgar slander.

Nigeria Hosts African Solidarity Meeting With Cuba

NEWS leadership, 17 September 2019. The Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba is set to host its 6th Solidarity meeting from September 23 to September 25 in Abuja, to pressure the US government to lift its over 50-year blockade on Cuba. The movement comprises labour centres such as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and coalition of other Civil Society groups and women organisations.
