Thai Minister of Science and Technology welcomes Cuban Ambassador

Thailand, June 13, 2017. The Minister of Science and Technology of Thailand, Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang, welcomed the Cuban Ambassador to Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, on a courtesy visit.

In the cordial meeting the good path of bilateral relations was confirmed, with special reference to the historical significance of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to be held in May 2018.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, signed on Friday 9 June 2017 the book of condolences at the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Tehran on June 7th, 2017.

Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Che Guevara remembered in Thailand

GRULAC gathering organized by the Embassy of Cuba in Bangkok, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Emotive welcome to the new Ambassadors of Chile and Peru. It was recalled the 502 anniversary of the founding of Santiago de Cuba, (28/6/1515) and, by historical coincidence, the birth on the same day, 14/6, of Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Che Guevara (1845 and 1928 respectively). The Cuban Ambassador denounced the presence of the US military base in Guantanamo, as a consequence of the imposition of the Platt Amendment in June, 1901.

BANGKOK, June 5, 2017 - The Director General of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Kanchana Patarachoke, received the Ambassador of Cuba to Thailand Héctor Conde Almeida.

In the cordial meeting, both sides stressed the good path of bilateral relations and reiterated their mutual will to continue strengthening them, with special reference to the historical significance of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to be celebrated in May 2018.
