G77+China Demands Right to Development at the Future Summit

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Thursday reaffirmed the need to guarantee the recognition of the right to development for the countries of the Global South on the route to the Summit of the Future in 2024.

Speaking at the preparatory meeting for that event, organized by the United Nations General Assembly, the head of Cuban diplomacy insisted on the right of the Southern States, grouped in the G77+China, to live without having hunger or poverty as a priority.

Thailand Urges G77+China to Innovative Approach for Development

Thailand promotes research and innovation for development, said Cherdchai Chaivaivid, head of the Thai delegation to the G77+China Summit.

According to Chaivaivid, director general of the Department of International Economic Affairs at the Foreign Minister, his country has policies of investment in human development.

He cited as an example the policies implemented by the government with science-based approaches to deal with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The G77 and China Summit Begins in Cuba.

More than a hundred delegations will participate in the G77 and China Summit, which will be held, starting today, in Havana on September 15 and 16.

Dozens of heads of State and Government will attend, as well as leaders of international organizations and organizations, including the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres.

Cuban Ambassador Attended the Reception for Brazil's Independence Day

Ambassador Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodríguez attended the reception for Brazil's Independence Day, where he was received by the Brazilian Ambassador in Bangkok Mr. Jose Borges dos Santos Junior and his wife.

The Independence of Brazil was proclaimed on September 7, 1822, through the so-called "Cry of Ipiranga", which took place on the outskirts of São Paulo.
