Cuba Prepares To Celebrate a Virtual International Workers' Day

The "United We Make Cuba" campaign will pay tribute to health and science workers for their efforts in fighting the pandemic.

Cuba's Central Workers Union (CTC) on Sunday launched the call for the commemoration of the World Proletariat Day on May 1.

Under the slogan "United We Make Cuba", the trade union movement will hold celebrations virtually. The date will pay tribute to health and science workers for their efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

AOSIS recognizes Cuba's efforts in the development of vaccines against COVID-19

New York, April 12, 2021.- The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), recognized the efforts of Cuba, one of its member states, in the development of vaccine candidates against COVID- 19, during the Special Segment on Financing the Covid-19 Recovery, which takes place under the Forum on Financing for Development of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. (ECOSOC acronym in English).

Cuban president underscores Europe's solidarity against US propaganda campaign

Havana, Apr 8 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Thursday noted the shows of solidarity from Europe against 'the cruel, ruthless and infamous campaign by the empire' to denigrate Cuba.

On his Twitter account, the president ratified the stance 'in defense of our sovereignty and independence'.

'We face severe difficulties without surrendering, we keep social justice,' the head of State tweeted.

Cuba's Foreign Trade Single Window starts up operations

Havana, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Foreign Trade Single Window (VUCE) started up operations online during a trial phase, a source from the sector informed on Tuesday.

'We are building the Foreign Trade Single Window. Online procedures began in a testing environment,' Vivian Herrera, general director of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) tweeted.
