We appreciate the kind invitation conveyed by the People’s Republic of China to exchange on the best experience achieved in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic and the prospects for cooperation during the recovery stage. We would like to commend the work carried out by the Mexican Pro Tempore Presidency of CELAC.

In recognition of Cuba's successful work in confronting SARS-COV-2, eight outstanding Cuban scientists and academics have been invited to join the World Inter-Academy Partnership’s COVID-19 Advisory Group.

This selection is indicative of respect for the work carried out by Cuban scientists and specialists in combating the pandemic, which has affected more than 14 million people on the planet, causing the death of more than 590,000 human beings, of whom only 87 were Cuban.

The national strategy presented to strengthen the economy in the post-COVID period is "a plan that defends an ideal, not an idea of perfection but the sum total of objectives to be met," President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez stated during his remarks at yesterday’s Council of Ministers meeting, broadcast on the Mesa Redonda Cuban television program.
