Cuban Foreign Minister denounces U.S. maneuver to undermine international support for an end to the blockade

Yesterday afternoon, the United States permanent mission at the UN began circulating eight amendments to the Cuban resolution calling for an end to the blockade, reported Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parilla during a press conference at the ministry in Havana.

He reported that the amendments basically address aspects related to the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and the human rights issue, a subject that the U.S. government attempts to use to discredit Cuba – unsuccessfully.

Cuban First Viceminister for Foreign Affairs fulfilled sucessful official visit to Australia

On 15 and 16 October, the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Marcelino Medina González, completed an intense agenda of exchanges with authorities of the Commonwealth of Australia, as part of his official visit to this country.

On 15 October, Medina González chaired the meeting on Political Consultations held at the headquarters of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, based in Canberra capital city. The counterpart delegation was led by the Vice Minister for Europe and Latin America, Christopher Langman.

Cuba and Australia signed agreement on biotechnology

Melbourne, October 16, 2018.- Important day in the bilateral relations history between Cuba and Australia; after weeks of negotiations, both countries signed the first agreement on biotechnology to promote cooperation and scientific research in the sector. On October 6th, the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society(ACFS) and the Cuban Embassy jointly organized an artistic gala in Canberra on the occasion of Cuban culture national day that will be officially celebrated on next October 20th.
