Unveiling of facsimile of the original document on the establishing of relations between Cuba and Australia

Canberra, November 22, 2024. As a closing activity of the Annual Programme developed by the Embassy of Cuba to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Cuba and Australia, a facsimile of the original document of the Agreement was unveiled today.

The activity took place at the Cuban Embassy in Canberra and was attended by Foreign Ministry officials, members of the accredited diplomatic corps and members of the Cuba solidarity movement.

Friends of Cuba in Sydney hold anti-blockade vigil

Sydney, 17 November 2024. Friends of Cuba in the beautiful city of Sydney held a vigil against the blockade of Cuba. Several of those present reaffirmed their willingness to continue to support the Cuban people.

The Cuban Ambassador to Australia sent greetings to all present and thanked the Australian people for their support for the Cuban people.

Havana and Griffith Universities sign cooperation agreement

Brisbane, 15 November 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia signed this morning, on behalf of the University of Havana, an agreement of academic and scientific cooperation with Griffith University, in the city of Brisbane, Queensland.

Signing for the Australian side were Sarah Todd, Vice-President of the leading academic institution and Professor Andreas Neef, Dean Researcher of the Law, Arts and Education Group.

Friends of Cuba and Cubans living in Melbourne gather to reject the blockade and raise funds for Cuba.

Melbourne, Victoria, 9 November 2024. The Australia-Cuba Friendship Society and Cubans living in that Australian city gathered at the headquarters of the Australian Maritime Union to hold an event to promote Cuban culture and demand an end to the blockade of Cuba.

The occasion was an opportunity to continue the fundraising efforts of the ACFS for projects in Cuba.

During the event a message of thanks from the Cuban Ambassador to Australia was conveyed.

Cuban artist's photography on display in Canberra's Latin American Square

Canberra, 4 November 2024. During the annual event held by the Australian Capital Territory authorities in Canberra's Latin American Square, a solo exhibition of the 15 Latin American countries that have accredited Embassies in Australia was held.
