Latin America and Spain Ambassadors meeting with Under – Secretary for Foreign Affairs Fletcher Tabuteau

Ambassadors from Latin America and the Chargé d´Affaires a.i. of Spain, held a meeting with Hon. Fletcher Tabuteau, Deputy Leader of NZ First and Under – Secretary for Foreign Affairs, to exchange views on the relation between New Zealand and the Hispanic world.

During the exchange Mr. Tabuteau updated the HOM on his next trip to Latin America (Chile, Perú & Colombia) and his intention to further promote closer links with the region.

Aotearoa Cuban - A weekend of dance and celebration in Rotorua.

In a wonderful and charming environment of celebration for Cuban music, took place from February 23 - 25 the 2018 edition of the Aotearoa Cuban Festival.

As every year, the event brought to this beautiful and gorgeous city, a space of knowledge, rhythms, dances and Cuban culture in general.

More than two hundred enthusiasts for Cuban music from New Zealand and Australia made it to the Festival.

Cuban and Maori rhythms got a interesting opportunity to mix and produce a magic blend of cultures.

Aotearoa Bike Challenge 2018

On February 12th., Ambassador Mario Alzugaray took part in Aotearoa Bike Challenge at the coolest small capital city in the world, invited by the Wellington City Council.

Aotearoa Bike Challenge is a fun, free competition between local organisations to see which can get the most staff to try riding a bike. It´s been implemented to raise awareness on the importance of environment protection and promoting a healthier life by riding your bike.

Paihia, 6th of February 2018. - On the occasion of the commemoration of Waitangi and in In successive encounters with the Governor General Patsy Reddy, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Vicepremier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters, the Cuban Ambassador to New Zealand, Mario Alzugaray, conveyed local authorities a congratulatory message on behalf of his Government.

The Cuban diplomat also expressed his pleasure on the good momentum in bilateral relations, restating the will to further promote closer links between the two countries.
