Latin America grows as a tourist destination

Wellington, July 10, 2018. The Ambassadors of Latin America and the Chargé d'Affaires a.i de Cuba, held a meeting with Rachel Williams, director of the Travel Agency Viva Expeditions, a company that specializes in the promotion of Latin America, the Caribbean and Antarctica as tourist destinations.

During the exchange, it was possible to confirm the increased interest of the Latin American region and Cuba in particular as a tourist destination, prioritizing the concepts of group travel, personalized itineraries, interaction with people, culture and local customs.

Exchange with University of Canterbury students

Wellington, June 26, 2018. At the Cuban Embassy in Wellington, Ambassador Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez held a cordial exchange with graduate students from the University of Canterbury, who are pursuing a Master's Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.

During the meeting the Cuban diplomat offered details about the history and prospects of economic and social development of Cuba. He also explained the main characteristics of Cuban foreign policy and the actions of Cuba in several forums and multilateral organizations.

Experiences for Cuba in Fieldays Agricultural Fair

Hamilton, June 15th, 2018. On the occasion of Fieldays agricultural fair, organized by the homonym National Society, third secretary Saimin Fis Abad had the opportunity to exchange with the Minister of Agriculture, Damien O'Connor and get a better understanding of opportunities for Cuba, especially in exchanges with local producers of the livestock industry.

During the brief exchange, the diplomat expressed her gratitude for the invitation to participate in this prestigious event and confirmed the interest of Cuba in knowing about the New Zealand experiences in this sector.

Prime Minister of Salomon Islands praises Cuban cooperation

Wellington, 12 June 2018. In an exchange held with Cuba's Ambassador in New Zealand, Mario Alzugaray, Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Rick Houenipwela, expressed his gratitude for the cooperation offered by the Caribbean nation to his country.

The exchange took place on the occasion of a presentation made by the Pacific leader at Parliament House in this capital, organized by the New Zealand Institute for International Affairs (NZIIA).

Rick Houenipwela made an official visit to New Zealand, invited by his counterpart Jacinda Ardern.

Cubans present at the NZ-Pacific Salsa Congress

Wellington, June 2nd. The Salsa Congress New Zealand-Pacific 2018, was inaugurated at the Wellington Dance School, widespread for three days of workshops, shows and parties that brought together outstanding dancers and salsa lovers from different countries.

The Salsa Congress featured performances and workshops by Cuban artists Rafael Ferrer, Harold Rancano and Isbert (Vivio) Ramos and constituted a unique space for enjoyment and knowledge of Latin music and dance (Embacuba NZ).
