Emotive remembrance and commitment to the legacy of Fidel in Guyana.

Guyana, November 24, 2017. - Cubans and Guyanese paid tribute of remembrance to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance in the historic Umana Yana center that Fidel visited in 1973.

As part of the homage program, the ambassadors of Cuba and Venezuela in Guyana, Julio César González Marchante and Reina Díaz Arratia, symbolically placed a whreath representing the Cuban flag under an image of Fidel; a minute of silence was observed and the documentary "Fidel is Fidel" by Cuban filmmaker Roberto Chile was presented.

New Victory of Cuba in the United Nations against US blockade

The Cuban resolution ¨Necessity of putting an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba¨ was widely supported in the United Nations this Wednesday, obtaining 191 votes in favor, 2 against (USA and Israel) and 0 abstentions.

The international community represented in the framework of the 72 session of the United Nations General Assembly strongly rejected the unjust and inhuman policy applied by the United States against Cuba for almost six decades.

Chancellor of Guyana ratifies support for the lifting of the blockade of Cuba.

Georgetown, October 11, 2017. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, and Second Vice-President, Carl Barrington Greenidge, received at the Foreign Ministry headquarters Cuban Ambassador Julio César González Marchante, where they discussed issues of common interest to both nations.
