The Cuban medical cooperation grows in Guyana.

Guyana, December 29, 2016. Authorities from the Ministry of Public Health of Guyana welcomed 31 Cuban health collaborators who number the nearly 200 members of the Cuban Medical Brigade by the end of 2016, including professionals with specialties scarce or nonexistent in the country.

Guyana, December 8th, 2016. In the context of the 44th Anniversary of the CARICOM-Cuba Day, a Cooperation and Technical Assistance Agreement was signed between the Caribbean Community, Guyana and Cuba for the creation of a Center to stimulate the development of children, adolescents and young people with special educational needs associated with disabilities, at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the regional entity.

President Granger signs Book of Condolence for late Cuban leader

Georgetown, Guyana – (December 1, 2016) President David Granger and First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, earlier this afternoon, visited the Cuban Embassy in Georgetown, immediately on their return from Barbados, where the Guyanese Head of State signed the Book of Condolence for the late President of the Republic of Cuba, Fidel Castro Ruiz.

The late President Castro, who is the longest serving leader of the 20th Century in this hemisphere, died on Saturday evening. He was 90 years old.

Georgetown, Guyana – (November 26, 2016) As the Republic of Cuba begins its nine-day period of national mourning for their former leader, Fidel Castro, who died last evening, President David Granger, today, extended condolences to the people of Cuba.
