Cuban President called at the UN for a fairer, more equitable world

United Nations, September 20, 2021.- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today urged the United Nations to work together for a more equitable, just and democratic world order in which no one is left behind.

The dignitary participated online in the high-level segment of the General Assembly, specifically in the session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Head of State stressed that for the vast majority of countries the SDGs do not seem achievable in less than a decade.

We have closely followed the most recent events in the European Parliament and have noted with disgust that the same faction of MEPs subservient to Washington have contrived to schedule a new debate on Cuba on September 16 next, dragging with them the political groupings to which they belong. This action once again turns the Parliament into a pawn in maneuvers of escalating aggression that is contrary to genuinely European interests and to the respectful dialogue that has characterized Cuba-EU relations.

Foreign Minister of the Bahamas receives the Cuban Ambassador

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Honorable Darren A. Hentfield, received the Cuban Ambassador, Julio César González Marchante, to whom ratified the unrestricted support of the Bahamas to the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the  United States government to the people of Cuba, a position that was also expressed in a recent Declaration of the Caribbean Community CARICOM and that the country reiterated in the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba rejects, in the strongest possible terms, the US State Department’s certification of Cuba as country that is not cooperating fully with the United States counterterrorism efforts, published by the Federal Register of that country on May 25, 2021.

Nassau, May 26th, 2021. The Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba holds a virtual conference with the Confederation of Employees and the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce. The meeting had the participation of ambassadors from both countries, allowed a greater rapprochement between institutions and develop future actions between businessmen from both markets. Our associated companies also participated: Cítricos Caribe, BK ImportExport and the Cuban Beekeeping Company - Apicuba.
