President of Estonia receives Credentials from the new Ambassador of Cuba

Helsinki, January 10th, 2018. The President of the Republic of Estonia, Her Excellency Mrs. Kersti Kaljulaid, received on January 9th, in a solemn audience held at the Presidential Palace in Tallinn, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Mr. Eduardo Lazo Pérez, who presented the Credentials that accredit him in those functions.

During the meeting, both interlocutors agreed on the importance they attach to the expansion of ties and political dialogue, both bilaterally and between the European Union and Cuba.

Austria-Cuba Friendship Association celebrates the 59th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution

With the presence of the Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and a wide audience of Austrian friends and the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in this country, it was celebrated the traditional commemoration of the Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution in the headquarters of ÖKG, the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association. This time the commemorative activity also coincided with the 59th anniversary of the entry of Fidel into Havana accompanied by the victory caravan.

Havana, January 8, 2018. The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Dr. Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, arrived to Cuba on Official Visit.  The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ana Teresita González Fraga welcomed the President at "José Martí" International Airport.

In attendance  from the Cuban side, the Director for Subsaharan Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gisela García Rivera and Vilma Thomas Ramírez, Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia.  From the Ethiopian side, H.E. Mr. Dewano Kedir was also present.

Havana, January 9, 2018. In the morning of January 9, a hearing of the Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations was held, which was organized by Marco Rubio, the Republican Senator for Florida and co-chaired by Robert Menendez, the Democrat Senator for New Jersey, who have a vast work history against the betterment of relations between Cuba and the United States and are promoters of all sort of legislative and political proposals that affect the interests of the Cuban and U.S.
