Cairo, August 13th, 2017 - Cuban residents in Egypt, directors of the Egypt-Cuba Friendship Association and members of the diplomatic corps gathered at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in this capital to celebrate the 91st birthday of our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
On 17 February this year, the United States Embassy in Havana and the Department of State informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the occurrence of some alleged incidents affecting some officials of that diplomatic mission and their families.

Luis Casares, a Cuban resident in New Zealand and member of the Auckland Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS), kicked off the event, highlighting the struggle for social justice, as one of the fundamental principles that guided the ideas and actions of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, whom he also described as a tireless fighter who has served as an example to the progressive and left wing forces around the world.

The Cuban women's soccer team under 17 spent their 8-0 win last night against the local team on the 91st birthday of the Commander-in-Chief, qualifying for the tournament of The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), held in Georgetown from 9 to 13 August.
