Ambassador Congratulates Cuba to Governor General on the occasion of the National Day of New Zealand

Waitangi. On the occasion of the National Day of New Zealand, Ambassador of Cuba, Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, held a brief meeting with the Governor General, Hon. Mr. Lieutenant General Sir. Jerry Mateparae, at which time he moved congratulations on behalf of the Cuban government and people for the commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, historical fact that marks the celebration of the national holiday in New Zealand.

Waitangi, February 5th 2015. On the occasion of commemorating the 175th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, which marks the celebration of the National Day of New Zealand, Ambassador of Cuba, Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, and the Minister Manuel Sanchez Oliva, they participated in the program of activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the occasion.

Mrs. Simone Rudder, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in office, received  the Cuban Foreign Ministry Barbadian Ambassador, Francisco Fernández, meeting served to review the main issues of bilateral and regional agenda. The occasion was propitious to coordinate actions in the face of the Third CELAC Summit, to be held on 28th and 29th of January in Costa Rica. Also, the willingness to further develop cooperation in various spheres was identified.
