AUGUSTINE, Trinidad and Tobago, 16 may 2015. – His Excellency Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago, paid a courtesy call on University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Pro Vice-Chancellor and Campus Principal, Professor Clement Sankat on April 22. The two met to discuss possibilities for collaboration, particularly in Research and Innovation Management Systems, Molecular Science, Agro-processing, specialist Health Services, Music, Arts and Culture, Software Development, Informatics and the preservation of historical buildings. Also in attendance was Mr. Sharan Singh, Director of The UWI St. Augustine’s Office of Institutional Advancement and Internationalization.

BAHAMAS, May 11th, 2015.- On Saturday, May 9, the Bahamian capital vibrated to the rhythm of the prominent Cuban group Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco who were invited to close the "Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival", first of its kind celebrated in this territory.
The Cuban group visited the Bahamas invited by the Organizing Committee of the "Junkanoo Carnival Bahamas" and was part of a group of bands, mostly Caribbeans, that contaminated the city last Saturday night.
