Cuba denounces impact of US blockade on information technology sector

United Nations, May 4 (Prensa Latina) The US blockade currently has a strong impact on the communications and information technology sector in Cuba and generates millions of dollars in losses, according to the island's representation to the United Nations.

Cuba’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Pedro Luis Pedroso stressed that, despite the obstacles, his country is making headway in the process of society informatization.

International seminar for peace kicks off in Cuba

Guantanamo, Cuba, May 4 (Prensa Latina) The 7th International Seminar for Peace and for the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases kicked off in Guantanamo, eastern Cuba, on Wednesday, with the participation of representatives from 25 countries.

Leaders of the World Peace Council (WPC) and its member organizations, as well as prominent figures, academics, anti-war activists and friends in solidarity with Cuba, are present in the event, to be held until Thursday, May 5.

Cuban and Belizean prime ministers highlight interest in cooperation

Havana, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban and Belizean Prime Minsters Manuel Marrero and John Antonio Briceño, respectively, expressed on Friday their interest in expanding cooperation between the two countries, the Presidency informed.

The Belizean minister met with his Cuban counterpart on Friday, during his official visit to Cuba.

The Presidency tweeted that “both leaders ratified the interest in developing cooperation in areas of common interest, as well as economic and commercial ties.”

Cuba and Belize strengthen cooperation ties

The First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received the Prime Minister of Belize, John Antonio Briceño, with whom he held official talks at the Palace of the Revolution.
