President of Cuba confirmed attendance to COP28 in Dubai.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel confirmed today his participation in the twenty-eighth United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) to be held from November 30 to December 12.

Through the social network X he informed: In a few hours we will leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), then to Qatar and Iran for official working visits.

In UAE we will participate in the #COP28, there has also been convened a Summit of Leaders of the G-77 and China on climate change. We will keep you informed, he added.

Cuba to address social and economic development for lasting peace.

Cuba today advocated for a sustained and lasting peace by eradicating the root causes of conflicts, particularly the problems of social and economic development affecting the countries of the South.

During the open debate convened by the Security Council on the promotion of sustained peace through common development, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver, said that this is a consequence of the current unjust international order.
