Cuban scientists are congratulated for Science Day.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today congratulated the island's scientists on the occasion of Science Day in the Caribbean nation.

Through his account on the social network X, the head of state recognized the merits of Cuban science, which has earned a place of honor in society with its research and decisive results for the development of the country and the defeat of the blockade imposed by the United States.

The president of the United National Independence Party of Zambia,  (UNIP), Bishop Trevor Mwamba, was present at the VII African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba held in the city of Mbombela, South Africa from January 15 to 17, whose conference rose determined to continue expanding Africa's unwavering support and solidarity with Cuba.

Monrovia, January 10, 2024 - In the afternoon, the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera received at the diplomatic headquarters the visit of political leader MacDella Cooper who in the meeting expressed her good wishes for the New Year.

Cuba remembers the murder of young people in Tarará 32 years ago.

Cuba recalls today the murder, 32 years ago, of four young combatants who were defending the coasts of the Caribbean nation, an event known as the Tarará crime.

On this date in 1992, a group of criminals attacked the nautical base of that urbanization in eastern Havana, with the purpose of stealing a boat and fleeing to the United States.

The aggression resulted in the murder of combatants Orosmán Dueñas (20 years old), Rafael Guevara (30), Yuri Gómez (19), while Rolando Pérez Quintosa (23) was seriously wounded.
