Cuba's Parliament begins work prior to ordinary session.

Deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament) began today their work sessions prior to the Second Ordinary Session of the 10th Legislature, where they analyze essential issues for the Caribbean country.

This Monday, the parliamentarians will evaluate the progress of the implementation of the Policy for the attention to children, adolescents and youths, as well as the Integral Strategy for the prevention and attention to gender violence and in the family scenario.

MANILA 17 December 2023 – The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines represented by Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba represented by Non-Resident Ambassador of Cuba to the Philippines Florentino Batista González marked a significant milestone in diplomatic relations between the  Philippines and Cuba with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations this December 2023, in Manila.

Communist Party of Cuba celebrates the VII Plenary Session of the Central Committee.

Leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) will hold today the VII Plenary Session of the Central Committee with an eye on priority issues for the country in the economic, political and social fields.

Prior to the meeting, which will be held until tomorrow, a broad consultation process of the documents to be submitted for analysis was carried out in more than 34 thousand meetings, with the participation of 750 thousand people.

Transforming Cuba's reality will be the focus of Communist Party debates.

The search for solutions to transform the reality facing the country today will be one of the central themes of the 7th plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).

The head of the Department of Organization of the PCC, Roberto Pérez, declared to the press that the conclave, to be held on the 15th and 16th, will constitute an integral evaluation and will approve the path to follow, when there are only a few days left for the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

Cuba's Council of State analyzes issues on the parliamentary agenda.

With the participation of President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Cuba's Council of State today reviewed several of the issues that will soon be analyzed by deputies in the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament).

The draft laws on the Military Prosecutor's Office, Public Health, the System of Attention to People's Complaints and Petitions and the State Budget for 2024 were some of the issues evaluated at the meeting, which was also attended by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

Cuba at UN anti-corruption conference in Atlanta, USA.

Cuba is attending the Tenth Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (CoSP10), which began today in the U.S. city of Atlanta.

The delegation of the island, which participates in this CoSP10 until Friday, is headed by the Comptroller General of the Republic of Cuba, Gladys Bejerano, and includes officials from the Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean country.

The National Library of Trinidad and Tobago donates books to the "José Martí" National Library.

Port of Spain, December 8, 2023. The National Library of Trinidad and Tobago (NALIS) today made a donation of books to the "Jose Martí" National Library, as part of the cultural exchange actions after the signing last July of a Memorandum of Understanding between both entities.

The Ambassador of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago, Tania Diego Olite, received the books from Michelle Garcia de Armesto, Acting Director of the Heritage Library Division, and Avolon Thomas, Director of Human Resources of the entity and in charge of cultural exchange programs.

Díaz-Canel concludes official visit to Iran

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel concluded his official visit here today after a busy agenda of meetings at the highest governmental level, with businessmen, solidarity groups and tours of centers of interest.

Before his departure, the president attended the Sadabad Historical Cultural Complex, where he held a meeting with Cubans living in Iran and solidarity groups, whom he thanked for their affection and support for the island.

On the day of tributes for the 7th Anniversary of the physical disappearance of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, members of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba, the Friendship Association, diplomats from Namibia, Mozambique, Russia, South Africa, Algeria, Palestine Tanzania, university students and a Cuban resident met at the Cuban Embassy in Lusaka to pay tribute to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution.
