Monrovia, May 5, 2022 - The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Liberia informs that on the occasion of the death of comrade Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and former President of the National Assembly of People's Power, a Book of Condolences will be opened at the Embassy headquarters on May 6 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on May 9 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 m.

I have to report that Washington has decided to exclude the Republic of Cuba from the preparations for the 9th Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles on 8th to 10th June and is presently exerting extreme pressures on numerous governments in the region which, privately and respectfully, oppose our exclusion.

Monrovia, February 17, 2022. - In the heat of events taking place during the celebration of the Bicentennial of the founding of Liberia, Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a friendly meeting with the President of the University of Liberia Prof. Dr. Julius J. S. Nelson, Jr.
During the meeting, both parties ratified their willingness to work towards strengthening bilateral relations in the field of education.

The special commission constituted in the MINREX will process the proposals issued from the embassies and by the collaborators abroad.

Monrovia, May 28, 2021 - In the morning hours our embassy received the visit of the Honorable Maxwell P. Vah, Assistant Minister for American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, who was received by the head of the Cuban mission in this West African country, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera.
The two diplomats had a pleasant exchange where they discussed issues of multilateral interest that require the attention of both countries.
