Ambassador of Cuba Stresses Important Role of the Common Fund for Commodities during Intervention in the 30th Meeting of the Board of Governors

The Hague, December 12, 2018. The Ambassador of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, S.E. Ms. Soraya Alvarez Núñez, during her speech at the 30th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), reiterated Cuba's support for the work of the Fund and highlighted the importance and relevance of the work carried out by that organization in the effective implementation of projects of interest and usefulness for developing countries, especially in the regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The Ambassador of Cuba in Georgia, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, held a meeting with the deputy Guguli Magradze, vice president of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture of the Chamber and president of the Georgian Friendship with Cuba Group.
The parliamentarian referred to the historic friendship relations between Georgia and Cuba and called for developing them in different fields, particularly in the parliamentary aspect.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Georgia, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, and the Deputy Head of the Georgian National Tourism Agency, Rusudan Mamatsashvili, held a meeting to evaluate the cooperation of both nations in that matter, as part of the visit of work that the diplomat develops in this Caucasian nation.
At the meeting, the vice-minister of tourism gave a detailed presentation on the particularities of tourism in Georgia and highlighted that in 2018 more than 7 million tourists arrived in their country.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Georgia, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, held official talks as part of the visit of the Cuban diplomat to this Caucasian nation.
Nieves Portuondo said the visit is an excellent opportunity to discuss bilateral relations, as well as to promote dialogue and cooperation between both governments.
The diplomat also highlighted the interest in extending cultural and academic exchanges, and increasing Georgian tourism to the island.

The Vice Minister of Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze, received in Tbilisi, as part of his visit, the Ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian country, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.
At the meeting, both authorities identified possible areas of cooperation with the aim of promoting the rapprochement between businessmen of the two countries.
The Cuban diplomat and the Georgian vice minister valued the promotion of investments, the possibility of exports of goods and services and mutual tourism promotion, among others.

H.E. Orlando Requeijo Gual, Ambassador of Cuba, delivered to the King of Bahrain, His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, his Letters of Credence as Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Bahrain, with residence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The solemn ceremony held in Al-Sakhir Royal Palace last December 4th, 2018, was also attended by H.E. the Minister of Royal Court, H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. the Minister for Follow-up at the Royal Court and the Chief of Royal Protocol.
