Cuban sportsmen participating in the Ashgabad World Weight Championships, http://ashgabat2018.com/  Turkmenistan, received the support and encouragement of the Cuban diplomatic mission in that Central Asian nation.

Cuban Ambassador Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, highlighted in a meeting held the recognition of those who competed without reaching prizes but who have squandered will.

The diplomat shared in the Olympic Village with the athletes and coaches and praised the discipline of the entire delegation.

The President of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, Gulshat Mammedova Sahyyevna, received the island's ambassador, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, at the headquarters of that national institution, with whom he reviewed bilateral issues and the social development of both nations.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and also served to exchange on the possibilities of cooperation in the economic, business, sports, cultural and academic spheres.

The Minister of Sports and Youth of Turkmenistan, Dayanch Gulgeldiyev Yaganovich, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, with the aim of promoting collaboration in sports.

The Turkmen official considered that the sports exchange between the two countries is one of the areas that have the best conditions to develop bilateral relations between Havana and Ashgabad.

For his part, the diplomat stressed that sport can become a bridge between nations.

The Hague, 7 November 2018. A delegation from the Embasy of Cuba in the Kingdom of The Netherlands, headed by Her Excellency Ambassador Soraya Elena Álvarez Núñez, visited the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute in the Dutch city of Utrecht. The visit was part of the program of activities to celebrate Cuban Culture Day.
