Cuban Ambassador participates in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Ulaanbaatar.

Ulaanbaatar, October 2, 2018. - The Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia participated this morning in the ceremony of commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi organized by the Embassy of India in Ulaanbaatar. With a floral tribute ceremony at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi located on the avenue that bears his name in the city of Ulaanbaatar, those present paid tribute to this Indian thinker and politician.

The Embassy of Cuba sent a condolences message to the government and people of Indonesia

Jakarta, October 2, 2018. On this afternoon, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia a message of deep condolences to the Indonesian government and people, particularly to the families and friends of the victims, on occasion of the tragedy caused by the earthquake and tsunami, that affected the province of Central Sulawesi, on September 28.

The Embassy reports that there have been no Cuban citizens among the victims of the grievous natural phenomenon.

Bilateral work meetings between the Foreign Ministries of Cuba and Mongolia

Between September 26 and 28, 2018, bilateral working meetings were held between the Foreign Ministries of Cuba and Mongolia. Miguel A. Moreno Carpio, Chief of the Independent Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, and N.Ankhbayar, Director of the Department of Public Administration and Management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, presided.

The president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, during his visit to the headquarters of Google in New York invited by Eric Shmidt, vice president of Alphabet, spoke with attendees about the development of high technologies and the role of these in the advancement of developing countries.

Statement by the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in the "Nelson Mandela Peace Summit”

Mrs. President:

We are so happy and take comfort in the fact that the United Nations General Assembly is convening a peace summit, and that such summit has been named after Nelson Mandela.

Less than 30 years ago, beloved Madiba was a political prisoner in the apartheid jails, serving a life sentence as a result of his noble struggle for justice and equality among all men and women in South Africa, where a white minority was subjecting the black majority to the scorn of segregation.
